Grateful Dead "From The Vault" Blotter Art Released!

In the summer of 1995, artists Mikio Kennedy and William Giese were working with Arista Records to produce artwork for an ad campaign that would announce hi-fidelity releases of some of the Grateful Dead's finest shows. These "From The Vault" releases were to be a "first of a kind" series of fan favorites released from never-before-shared soundboard recordings.

As the artwork was progressing, Jerry Garcia died.

The project came to a screeching halt as the Grateful Dead universe was turned upside down.

Sometime later, Arista called back with plans to proceed with the Vault releases and the artwork was completed.

The blotter design is a double-sided print. 100 pairs of the prints are sold as a signed, numbered edition. In additional 24 pairs are released as an Artist Proof edition.

Each edition contains two prints. One is signed on the front, one is signed on the back, each is signed by both artists and the pairs are matching numbered sets produced exclusively for Shakedown Gallery.

The set of two with matching numbers is $100.
